The FANATIC Bee LTD 124 is the latest addition to the Freeride Wide Body family. Additional to this model, two other members, Bee LTD 144 and Bee LTD 164, will also be produced in a brandnew limited Semi Custom Technology.
The total production of each model will be 200 pcs. (limited edition only!). All Boards will have printed numbers (001 - 200).
A very high-grade Laminate
Construction (Glass-Carbon Construction), partly traced from the High Tech
Technology of the Falcons, guarantees a big advantage in terms of weight -
up to 1 kg compared to the HS Construction!
The new Bee LTD 124 was engineered utilising a combination of High Tech Features
(see Falcon Raceboards 2001), Carbon T-Stringer and Dynamic Flex Nose, resulting
in a shape that is sportive, accessible and most importantly, super fun to
use.
The wide point and straight outline allow lightning acceleration, smooth early
planing and control for the higher winds. Tucked under rails forward make
every jibe a successful pleasure and sharper rails in the tail give even more
performance. The tail width is perfect for non-stop planing jibes, upwind
cruising and stablity for every level of sailor to enjoy.
The Bee LTD 124 has now completed the Wide Body family, further pushing the windrange in both (the upper & lower end). Width is now an advantage in modern shapes, combined with suptle rocker changes and smoother rail outlines, this width pushes the windrange on both ends of the scale, delivering unmatched performance and control. In the LTD range, Carbon is used mainly in the bottom to improve weight and stiffness. High quality glass materials are used for the top area of the board, so a high resistance against bumps is guaranteed.
| Shape Details | Unmatched Performance |
| Efficient Outline Concept | Wider mid section for increased dynamic lift, narrower tail for control and reducing drag |
| Semicustom | Seamless Perfect, clear optic, raceboard-look |
| Dynamic Nose Flex | Utilising a combination of stiff/flexible materials, reducing vibrations and maximising speed though. Reacts to choppy water, improved planing abilities and performance |
| Carbon T-Bone Stringer | Inserted between the tail and mast track to minimise twist effect, thereby ensuring a consistent and enduring scoop line |
| GCG Glass-Carbon Construction | perfect Synergy between low weight/high stiffness and maximal durabilty - up to 1 kg lighter compared to the HS version |
Dynamic
Nose Flex
A special construction and tuned lay up in the front section of the
board scoop, in the deck as well as in the underside, lends the bow
area a dynamic nose flex.
This area can compensate for the vibrations and oscillations that occur
when the underside of the bow is repeatedly hit by chop, giving a dampening
effect that keeps the board stiller and allows it to plane better in
all conditions.
Even in very high winds, the Dynamic Nose Flex allows a much more efficient
ride to the board so that the sailor can power very relaxed thru hard,
choppy water and concentrate on handling the more demanding aspects
of such conditions rather than on board control.
This Dynamic Nose Flex in the bow is achieved thru the materials chosen
for the construction because they develop a high dynamic return rate
(similar to the response you get from the flex of a mast top made from
high quality carbon). Here, in the special mix of fibres, High Modulus
Carbon Fibres are used in order to guarantee this dampening effect.
Due to the chosen material combination, specifically focussed on the
area of use for each board type, the Dynamic Flex Nose is used in the
new Fanatic Raceboards.
T-Bone
Stringer
The new Fanatic T-Bone Stringer technology guarantees a marked increase
to the stiffness in the rear section of the board. This is extremely
important for the low end characteristics of the board.
Further, the T-Bone Stringer guarantees the long term shape stability
of the curvature in the underside, a fact that is decisive in determining
the sailing characteristics of every board, most especially in light
weight Raceboards.
The third advantage of this especially shaped stringer is the increase
in breaking strength, depending on what materials are used and where
they are positioned
The Fanatic T-Bone Stringer is partially built into the core of the
underside and thereby, due to its T-Shape, absorbs and evenly distributes
forces active both on and in the core.
This special T-Shape of the stringer gives the underside the required
ratio of stiffness to durability. Parallels can be struck with aeronautical
engineering, where T-shaped struts are used in areas of high stress
to give increased stiffness.
